Are you a junior laboratory professional with an interest in chemical analysis and water quality? For an international organization in the Leiden area, I am looking for a Chemical Lab Technician who thrives in an analytical environment. In this role, you will work with modern equipment and provide reliable data for internal stakeholders.
What will you do?
As a Chemical Lab Technician, you are responsible for performing routine chemical analyses on water and product samples. Your tasks include sample registration, preparation, and analysis using techniques such as ICP-OES, ion chromatography, liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, and wet chemical testing. You will work under the supervision of a senior chemist, ensuring that all analyses are carried out accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
In addition, you process analytical data and interpret chromatograms to generate reports for internal customers. You are also involved in updating SOPs, managing waste, and maintaining a clean and safe laboratory environment. Furthermore, you set up, adjust, maintain, and operate analytical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Who are you?
- Minimum MBO4 qualification in a relevant field, such as MLO or other laboratory or chemistry education.
- At least 2 years of work experience in a laboratory.
- A basic knowledge of chromatographic techniques.
- Experience with ICP-OES and Chromeleon software is a plus.
- A meticulous and organised approach to work.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English; Dutch is not required.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
